You're floating in midair, surrounded by bright lights. You can't move, and you feel a little anxious as you realize you're being scanned by the machine. This is the first step in the process of entering the Cortex. The robotic arm begins to move towards you, and as it does, the main camera aligns itself to your face. It gets closer and closer until it is just inches away from you, and you can see every detail of the lensless sensor. The arm then stops and hovers there, as if waiting for something.
